Alvarez praises Man City teammate Foden after triumph at Bournemouth

Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez praised Phil Foden after their 4-1 win at Bournemouth.

Alvarez, Foden and Erling Haaland all scored one and assisted one at the Vitality Stadium.

A Chris Mepham own-goal added a fourth, before Jefferson Lerma pulled a goal back for the hosts shortly before full time.

Alvarez was overjoyed for Foden, who was named Man of the Match in his landmark appearance.

"He's really important for us," said Alvarez.

"It's not easy to get that many appearances for City. He's really helping us and I'm really happy for him.

"I'm very happy, we need to keep amassing points, it's a long season.

"I'm very happy with the performance and the three points."
