Former Sunderland striker Jozy Altidore insists he wasn't forced into his move to Toronto FC.
The USA international chose Toronto ahead of four German clubs, two French teams, two Italian sides and a possible loan move to another Premier League club.
He told The Journal: "There were a lot of options.
"People were saying I was forced to Toronto or something like that.
"I just thought at this point in my life it was something that I was ready to do.
"The challenge of Toronto excited me.
"It was about the opportunity to turn around a club that, let's face it, hasn't had a lot of success since coming into the league.
"That whole project excited me."
