Aloisi convinced Kewell can carry on in Australian team

Former Australian national team striker John Aloisi is of firm belief that Harry Kewell can continue on with the Socceroos.

The 32-year old Galatasaray forward has been in good form on the international scene in recent times and Aloisi, who recently retired from professional football with A-League club Melbourne Heart, feels he can go on and lead the side at the 2014 World Cup.

"We might not have someone up to being a starter by then, who can be a really good leader on the pitch," Aloisi said.

"Harry can do a really good job up front and showed at the Asian Cup he can play that position well.

"It might be the case that he plays on to the World Cup and, if that is the case, I am sure he will do well.

"We might have to have Harry fit and still doing well. Let us hope that Harry stays fit, if so he will be selected no problem.

"I played when he started with Australia in 1997," he added. "To keep going strong for so many years, he should be happy. Harry being there for our young players is great."
