Spanish La Liga club UD Almeria have officially confirmed the loan signing of Muang Thong United's Teerasil Dangda.
The prolific 25-year old Thailand international striker will officially join Almeria on July 1 this year on an initial 12-month loan with the option for a permanent deal.
Dangda, who trialled with Manchester City in 2007 and also trained with Atletico Madrid last year, was delighted to be the man who can hopefully pave the way for Thai footballers in Europe.
''I am very happy and would like to thank all concerned parties for their support for me to play in Spain,'' he said when unveiled.
''I hope this will lead to other Thai players getting chances to play in Europe. I think I will not have problems playing in Spain."
Dangda added on Almeria's official website: "I am very grateful to Almeria for the opportunity given to me and I will not disappoint."
Alberto Benito, sports director of the Andalusian club, said of Dangda: "Many people may ask if Teerasil is good enough to play for Almeria or not, and I think he is.
"We have watched tapes of him playing and his style suits La Liga. He can play in every attacking position."
