Allen only looking ahead after getting through Liverpool blues

Joe Allen says he is feeling much more confident after pushing through his struggles with Liverpool.

?The Welsh midfielder, 25, joined the Reds from Swansea City for £15 million in the summer of 2012 but did not hit the heights expected of him in his first couple of seasons at Anfield.

?However, Allen is now an integral part of Brendan Rodgers' Champions League-chasing side and admits it took a little bit of time to get to this point.

?"I am taking more responsibility now. I look back at my first season at Liverpool and I was disappointed with how I approached it at times," said Allen.

"My dip in form affected my confidence, it was the first time I had experienced it so it was a bit of a setback. But I came through it and I am really looking forward to the future.

?"I don't consider myself a young player any more. I have got enough experience both at club and international level to feel a big part of the squad."?
