Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce has urged fans not to barrack Michael Owen during tonight's clash with Tottenham.
Owen was booed by a section of the St James' Park crowd against Everton two weeks ago for his alleged preference to play for England.
Allardyce said: "I thought they were booing me for bringing off Oba Martins. Me getting booed is part of the job - I'd sooner they booed me than Michael."
