West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce is still angry over their Capital One Cup exit.

Allardyce admits the players involved have put their futures on the line.

He wrote in the London Evening Standard: "I've had a few days to reflect on our 4-1 Capital One Cup defeat at home to Wigan and I'm still just as upset as straight after the match. What really disappoints me is that, after all the hard work we put in during pre-season and such a fantastic start, we offered up a performance like that.

"I just don't accept what happened in any shape or form and the players are putting their West Ham careers in jeopardy.

"Someone on TV made the point that, of the Manchester United squad which lost to Crystal Palace in the League Cup last November, nine players have since left the club.

"It's a similar scenario at most clubs. If you get a chance you have to grab it because everyone must realise that time is short these days. What disappoints me is that we made nine changes, Wigan five and other Premier League clubs between six and 11 in the competition.

"I can accept that, if you make wholesale alterations, you can slip up and the manager takes responsibility for disrupting the team.

"But I can't and won't accept a 4-1 home defeat - it shouldn't happen."
