A well-wisher picked it up for safe-keeping, but couldn't resist scrolling through the gaffer's list of contacts.

Minutes later, Allardyce returned and was reunited with his phone. But alas, not in time to stop the Good Samaritan texting Karren Brady and demanding she put in a bid for Frank Lampard.
