All change for Sky Sport New Zealand

New Zealand pay-television broadcaster Sky has confirmed that it will launch a new streaming application in August to coincide with a revamp of its sports channel portfolio, reports SportBusiness.

From August 1, Sky will offer 12 high-definition sports channels, all of which will be available through a new Sky Sport Now streaming service from August 14. Fan Pass, which will be replaced by Sky Sport Now, currently only offers four sports channels.

A new sports news channel will be launched, while there will be dedicated channels for cricket, football, golf and rugby.

The full channel line-up will be:

  • Sky Sport News;
  • Sky Sport 1 – Rugby 24/7;
  • Sky Sport 2 – Cricket 24/7;
  • Sky Sport 3 – Home of Netball;
  • Sky Sport 4 – Home of Rugby League;
  • Sky Sport 5 – Home of Motorsport;
  • Sky Sport 6 – Golf 24/7;
  • Sky Sport 7 – Football 24/7; and
  • Sky Sport 8, Sky Sport 9, ESPN and ESPN 2.

The Sky Sport News channel, which will include a morning news service from September 2, will be supplemented by bulletins from sister channels Fox Sports News in Australia and Sky Sports News in the UK.
