Former AZ Alkmaar winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh says he chose Brighton over a bigger offer from Leicester City.
The Iran international joined the Seagulls in 2018.
He recalled to Persian Football: "Brighton's offer was great for the club and Leicester made a serious proposal during the negotiations.
"Many people said I chose Brighton because they would pay me more, but frankly, Leicester's offer was much more financially attractive.
"I chose Brighton for two reasons. The chairman of Brighton came to the Netherlands to talk to me personally, while Leicester made less effort. At Brighton, it was the trainer who wanted me and followed me for years.
"At Leicester, it was not the trainer, but the chairman who wanted me.
