Alex Tettey admits he's surprised himself by winning a new contract with Norwich City.
The midfielder was planning to return home to Norway, but now has signed a new 12 month deal with the Canaries.
And he told VG: "Everything has worked to the maximum, which has helped me sign the contract. I honestly don't know if the body will work next season. I don't really know, and I have been honest about that, but you would think and hope it goes well!
"Physically, I've never felt better than now. I don't know, and I've been asked many times about how I do it, but it just happened."
Tettey, 33, admits he will only return home to retire.
He added: "I will not play football in Norway. What's the point? I can't train on artificial grass, I can't play matches on artificial grass. When I go home to Norway, I'm old. Health is no reason to play football in Norway, so why should I do that?"
