Liverpool legend John Aldridge insists Jordon Ibe is the man to replace Raheem Sterling.

Sterling has told the club he wants to leave in order to win trophies and Reds legend Aldridge thinks they should cash in.

"It's not ideal with Steven Gerrard leaving at the same time but if we get £40million we've got an ideal replacement for Raheem's position in Jordon Ibe," Aldridge told the Liverpool Echo.

"It's a hard one for the manager, for [chief executive] Ian Ayre and for [owner] John Henry."
