Aldo names his trio who are letting down Liverpool

Liverpool legend John Aldridge has picked out three players who he believes are letting down the team this season. Aldridge wrote in the Sunday World: "Lazar Markovic is the first one I would pick out of the crowd of mediocrity and say he must do a whole lot better. This kid came with a big reputation, but he has looked out of his depth at Liverpool so far this season. You can't afford to be carrying players and Markovic is a passenger right now.

"Philippe Coutinho is another major concern. He was outstanding in Liverpool's push for the Premier League title last season, but he has been horribly off the boil over the first few games of this campaign and Rodgers needs to look at how he can get him back on song.

"Then there is Mario Balotelli, who has got to do better. He needs to contribute more, score more goals and get more involved in the game - the jury will remain out on his role in the team until that happens."
