Al-Ettifaq coach Gerrard furious after Cup defeat: Worst decision in my 26 years of pro football

Al-Ettifaq coach Steven Gerrard was furious after their King's Cup defeat to Al Nassr.

Al Nassr secured the win in injury-time through a Sadi Mane goal, but before that Al Ettifaq was reduced to ten men after a questionable red card.

Liverpool legemd Gerrard later said, "Congratulations to Al Nassr on the win, they are a good team with good players and a good coach.

"We wish them luck in the future, but we didn't lose to Al Nassr tonight, we unfortunately lost to the referee.

"I became a professional footballer in 1997, and I have never seen such a bad ruling.

"The referee told my staff that he sent off the player based on the reaction of the Al Nassr players and if that is the case then he is going to send off players every time those players react."
