Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen admits Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen is his role model.

Eriksen hopes to follow the career path of Vertonghen, who won his move to Spurs after an outstanding last season at Ajax.

"Jan Vertonghen is my role model in this regard. Last season, after the winter break, he played every game incredibly well. I must now show that in every game I'm the best.

"I know that if you're being given a lesson in the Netherlands, then you should think about leaving."
