Ajax are seeking talks with Barcelona coach Xavi.

Xavi is set to leave Barca at the end of the season - just as John van't Schip will at Ajax.

Sport says Ajax want Xavi and also Barcelona's former sporting director Jordi Cruyff.

Ajax's hope is to reunite Xavi and Cruyff. They are friends and had a good past collaboration at Barcelona.

It is not clear exactly what role Cruyff would have in Ajax, but the most likely option is that he would be part of the sporting management.

However, Barcelona are doing everything in their power to convince Xavi to reverse his decision and stay next season.
