Ajax chief Marc Overmars is surprised by talk of Vurnon Anita wanting a move to Newcastle United.

The young midfielder is understood to be keen on joining the Toon.

"In the two weeks that I've now worked at Ajax I have heard nothing from Newcastle," insisted Overmars.

"If Frank de Boer wants to keep Vurnon, they he should stay."
