Ajax Amsterdam have managed a positive 2-1 win over France's Auxerre at home in the Champions League.

The Dutch giants netted first through Demy De Zeeuw after just seven minutes before the prolific Luis Suarez added a second four minutes before the breal.

Auxerre hit back through Valetr Birsa in the 56th minute but it was not enough to deny Ajax their first win in the group stage this season despite it being a spiteful encounter which saw oni=e Ajax player and two Auxerre men sent off.
