QPR signing Andy Johnson is backing stalwarts Shaun Derry and Clint Hill to benefit from the arrival of so many new signings.

AJ can't see either player being frozen out.

"I know Rangers have signed some fabulous players to improve the squad," Johnson told the Fulham Chronicle.

"But Shaun deservedly got a lot of games last season.

"He brings a lot to any side - as I discovered at Palace when we were there together.

"I think the likes of Clint and Shaun are overlooked because of their background," said the striker. "They proved to themselves and everyone they have what it takes to play at the highest level."
