Sergio Aguero says it is vital for Manchester City to continue placing pressure on Premier League leaders Chelsea.
The Blues sit on top of the standings with 26 points from 10 matches which has them six ahead of reigning champions City.
In the wake of Sunday's 1-0 derby win over Manchester United, goalscorer Aguero has identified the need to return to winning form in order to make life difficult for Chelsea as City strive to defend their title.
"It is important to win. Chelsea are doing very well and they keep winning but we have to go on and I'm sure they will drop some points," he told CityTV.
"They play at Liverpool next weekend and we will see if they drop points but the important thing is that we have to win games."
City meet CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Wednesday night before setting their sights on second-bottom QPR in the league on November 8.
