Agent tribute to Liverpool midfielder Wijnaldum; coaches and docs amazed

The agent of Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum says there should be no surprise he continues to improve with age.

Wijnaldum has just completed an outstanding week with Holland. The former Feyenoord ace captained his country to victories over Bosnia and Poland in the Nations League. Wijnaldum scored twice in the 3-1 win against Bosnia and also struck for the 2-1 triumph in Poland.

The Reds ace also led the Oranje to a 1-1 draw with friendly opponents Spain at the beginning of international week.

Despite the heavy workload, Wijnaldum showed no signs of flagging. Indeed, the midfielder has amazed his coaches and doctors with the Dutch national team and Liverpool. Since the season kicked off in August, Wijnaldum has already played 21 games.

Agent Humphry Nijman told De Telegraaf via Voetbalzone: “He is a boy who takes a very good care of his body. He does a lot for that. He also ensures that he has the right people around him.

"A lot of players have the tendency, as they get older, to do something else. One is going to the media, the other has secondary activities. Gini has always been able to suppress that need. He is only involved in football. It is a matter of making choices."

Wijnaldum also started in midfield for Sunday's 3-0 victory against Leicester City in their top of the table showdown, playing a full 90 minutes.
