Inter Milan have been following new signing Marcelo Brozovic for over a year.
The former Dinamo Zagreb midfielder joined Inter yesterday on a two-year loan.
Vincenzo Cavaliere, who worked on the deal, told FCInterNews: "The operation began about a year ago. Piero Ausilio and I, we talked about it, then the Nerazzurri have scouted him in different games and different competitions.
"In the Champions League, League, Europa League and San Siro against Italy: that was the icing on the cake.
"This is the best time after the World Cup, having played important games for club and country. He's pretty young but a certainty."
