The agent of Gremio whizkid Yuri Mamute has revealed the interest of Manchester City.

Jorge Machado says both City and Inter Milan made attempts to sign the exciting striker as a junior player.

"I had the opportunity to move him to Manchester City when he was 15 years old, but he was too young," recalled Machado.

"At 16 he took the step to Inter Milan, but he was still a child and Gremio decided to stop him."

Mamute, 19, is now a Brazil U20 international and scored three goals in 13 games this season.
