Atletico Madrid are interested in Catania winger Alejandro 'Papu' Gomez.

Agent Leonardo Rodriguez has confirmed the interest of Atletico coach Diego Simeone in the Argentine.

"In particular Atletico Madrid are eager to sign him, seeing as their Coach is Diego Pablo Simeone, who worked with Gomez at San Lorenzo and Catania.

"Will Gomez leave Catania? I think so, even if I'll have to talk it over with their new director of sport Sergio Gasparin as soon as I get to Sicily."
