The agent of Vurnon Anita admits Newcastle United are pushing to land the Ajax midfielder.

Harry Lulofs says Toon boss Alan Pardew is planning three new signings.

"Newcastle will try to sign three players this summer and Vurnon is one of those three," the representative told AjaxLife. "The first bid, which is also written down is a sign that Newcastle are seriously interested and I expect the club to double that offer.

"Vurnon is open to Newcastle. He finds it a nice, big club. Players who perform well at Newcastle can move onto bigger clubs in the Premier League."
