The agent of Stefan de Vrij says staying with Inter Milan remains an option.

The defendeer's deal with Inter runs to the end of this season.

"The dialogue with Inter is open, very open. Stefan is very happy that the club have reaffirmed their trust in him by expressing their desire to continue the relationship," agent Federico Pastorello told TMW.

“When a player of his age finds himself with an expiring contract, clearly many evaluations come into play besides the economic one. It will probably be his last major contract and when you are expiring you can also decide whether to have a new experience in a new country, in a new league.

“Having said that, however, his attachment to Inter is very strong and I don't exclude that he might decide to stay.

“We are absolutely not thinking of leaving in January, he is very focused today on the possibility of catching up with Napoli in the table and he wants to make a strong contribution for the second half of the season. There are no problems."

He added: “February and March will be a good time to make certain choices. There will be no shortage of offers, but at his age and for a very thoughtful player like him, who has basically played for two or three clubs in his career, all aspects will be important."
