The agent of Jonathan Spector has played down talk of a move to Fiorentina for the West Ham United fullback. Steve Kelly told TMW: "I read about this in the papers, however, at least personally, I have never been contacted by Fiorentina.

"Are West Ham still counting on him or planning to sell him? Last year he played only nine games simply because he experienced a severe injury. But then he took part in the Confederations Cup.

"Should he get an offer from Fiorentina or another club, it could be taken into consideration, but honestly I think it's a non-starter, taking into consideration the fact that the season has begun."
