Agent dismisses Zenit link for Roma midfielder Brighi

The agent of Roma midfielder Matteo Brighi has played down talk of a move to Zenit St Petersburg.

Brighi has been linked with the Russian giants following the appointment of former Roma coach Luciano Spalletti.

Agent Vanni Puzzolo said: "Matteo's had some injuries and hasn't found the continuity to get match fit, but when he plays as a ball-playing midfielder he finds himself well.

"It's also true that right now he has the legs and the timing to be the 'Perrotta'of the situation, but he's at Ranieri's disposition and obviously will be ready when he's called to the cause.

"Matteo is fine in Rome. In reality there has never been a serious deal that Roma has taken into consideration and honestly there isn't any motive for them to sell him.

"For now, talk of Zenit is just chatter."
