Davide Astori's agent has confirmed to Sky Sports that Southampton are amongst a raft of clubs interested in the Italian international. The 25-year-old defender is currently with Cagliari, but he is being tipped to secure a move away from Sardinia.
"There are many clubs interested in Astori and among them I know there is also Southampton, " Renzo Contratto told Sky Sports.
"Both the player and Cagliari have said in the last days that, in the event that an important offer came, they will evaluate it together and decide what to do. This could happen even in January."
