Luuk de Jong's agent has confirmed that Liverpool and Newcastle United are both watching his client but says there has been no contact.
Louis Laros, de Jong's representative, is well aware of the fact that the Premier League pair are interested in the FC Twente striker but says a transfer is far away as neither the Reds or Magpies have made contact regarding a potential move.
"If there is a possible transfer then I think it is at the end of the season.
"I haven't received a phone call from Liverpool or Newcastle that they are completely interested in Luuk de Jong. For this moment, I think it is just a rumour.
"I know they [Liverpool and Newcastle] are watching him but I have had no direct contact with both clubs over a possible transfer.""I don't think a transfer is possible [to Liverpool or Newcastle] because I don't think FC Twente will let him leave in the winter transfer period," Laros told International Business Times.
