Agent admits Middlesbrough interest for Chelsea's Sidwell

Steve Sidwell's agent has revealed that the Chelsea midfielder will consider a move to Middlesbrough, but only if the club want to sell him.

Underwhelming does not even begin to describe Steve Sidwell's time at Stamford Bridge. Plucked from a Reading side in which much of the play revolved around him, he has spent almost the entire season on the bench, or worse, not even in the squad.

He signed on a free after his contract with the Royals came to an end.

According to his agent Eric Walters, Sidwell is happy at Stamford Bridge and has no plans to leave, but would be willing to negotiate with potential suitors if the club are content to let him go which, in all likelihood, is a distinct possibility.

"Steven is very happy at Chelsea," Walters told The Gazzette. "If Chelsea accept a bid for him then that will be a different matter and Steven would have to think about his future.
