Celtic are ready to trump Premiership rivals for Cardiff City's off contract star Joe Ledley.

Everton, West Ham, Blackburn, Fulham, Wolves and Wigan Athletic are all chasing the Wales international.

But the Scottish Sun says Ledley kicked off signing talks with Celtic yesterday before heading north for a guided tour of Parkhead and Lennoxtown.

The Hoops would love to land the much sought after 23-year-old this week to follow the unveiling of Neil Lennon as permanent boss.

It's understood Lennon rates £5million-rated Ledley as the best free transfer in British football.
