Newcastle United hope for a double defensive boost in the coming days.

The Daily Star says Toon have agreed a £5m deal for Lille's France international defender Mathieu Debuchy.

Newcastle are also likely to push their interest in another defensive target, FC Twente's Douglas, who they also chased last summer.
