Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat was full of praise for owner and chairman Ellis Short.
The Dutch tactician guided the Wearside club to safety with a 0-0 draw at Arsenal on Wednesday night and was quick to highlight the work done by American businessman Short.
"We have one owner and don't have the money other clubs have, we have to be very proud of the chairman.
"He has spent millions - but the quality wasn't always there. But hopefully now he can start with another set-up, bringing less players but with more quality than they have in the past.
"You cannot buy eight players for £40million anymore, you have to try get more quality in your squad."
