Adu unhappy about current Philadelphia Union situation

Freddy Adu's situation at Philadelphia Union has placed some unease on the talented forward.

The 23-year old came on for the final eight minutes of the Union's 0-0 draw with Real Salt Lake on the weekend and was clearly unhappy when interviewed after the match.

"My role changed today where [Union interim manager John Hackworth] wanted to just bring me into the game and make a difference," Adu said.

"When I went in, I tried to do that. I created a couple of chances. But whatever. It is what it is."

Adu, who has appeared 18 times for Philly this season, admits it is difficult to make an impact for his team when he is not playing as regularly as he likes but still feels he did a decent job at PPL Park as the Union remained eighth on the Eastern Conference table.

"Sure, it's hard," Adu said. "But you've got to do what you've got to do and help the team.

"Today was one of those days where I personally didn't have a lot of minutes. But when I was in, I was just thinking about making something happen and creating chances. And I was able to do that. I was able to put them on their heels a little bit."
