Caleb Porter has named his 20-man USA U23 squad for 2012 London Olympics qualifying.
The US team will compete in the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament group stage with Cuba, Canada and El Salvador with the top two teams from that group to meet the top two from Group B in the semi-finals on March 31.
Porter has named Philadelphia Union young gun Freddy Adu as captain with New York Red Bulls striker Juan Agudelo and FC Dallas winger Brek Shea at the forefront of the team.
Porter has indicated that he has chosen an experienced enough squad to qualify for the London Games who will be ready to go from game one against Cuba at LP Field on Thursday.
"We've seen them already in friendlies, so it's not like we're throwing them out there and hoping," he said. "We expect a very good performance out of these guys because we have very talented players and we've had time to put them together the right way."
