Inter Milan striker Adriano says coach Jose Mourinho has saved his career. Adriano is nearing his best and the striker said: "When I first met with him, he told me 'I want you to stay here, just work hard, it all depends on you'.

"When I came back from Brazil I was worried. Would I be sold? Would I have a future? His words were comfort for me."

He added: "He reminds me a lot of Cesare Prandelli, two different coaches from all the others that I've had. Put simply, I can remember what Mourinho said to me one day: 'I have two sons: one is at home and one is you'."
