Southampton defender Toby Alderweireld has urged his teammates to finish the season strongly after a run of three defeats in four games.
The Saints are placed a point below sixth-placed Tottenham as they look to qualify for the Europa League and a seventh-place finish would be enough to make the qualification rounds, provided Arsenal beat Aston Villa in the FA Cup final.
To make matters more complicated for the Saints, Swansea City have crept within a point in eighth spot which has prompted Belgian defender Alderweireld to speak out about the south coast club's current predicament.
"Sometimes when you're in the moment you can't explain why," Alderweireld, on-loan from Atletico Madrid, told the Southampton Echo.
"Everybody's working very hard, but I think we are not creating enough chances to win.
"I think the goalkeeper is not having to take too much balls, but every chance is a goal, so that's unlucky, but we have to work very hard to end the season very well.
"We are just one point behind Tottenham, so it's going to be difficult, but we have a chance."
