Adelaide United too strong for Gamba Osaka

Adelaide United have made it two from two in the group stage of the Asian Champions League.

The Reds, who are sit to finish second bottom on the A-League, overwhelmed Japanese club Gamba Osaka to record a 2-0 victory at Hindmarsh Stadium.

Daniel Mullen scored both goals for Adelaide with the first one coming from a header after his initial headed effort from Dario Vidosic's free-kick deflected off the crossbar. The defender's final effort took a touch off Gamba's Lee Seung-yeoul to put the home side ahead in the 17th minute.

Seven minutes later, Mullen doubled the advantage with a precise finish from close range to send the Australian club to the top of the Group E table on six points after Bunyodkor beat Pohang Steelers 2-0 in Korea.

The next group stage matches take place on Tuesday, April 3 with Adelaide away at Pohang whilst Gamba host Bunyodkor.
