Adelaide United tie up coach Coolen to long-term deal

Adelaide United have secured the services of head coach Rini Coolen for the next four years.

The club has announced that the Dutchman has signed a long-term deal with the Reds and will continue his great start to his coaching career in the A-League.

Coolen arrived in Adelaide in July last year as a relative unknown but has soon become one of the top coaches in the country, bringing a great brand of football with him from RBC Roosendaal.

So far, Coolen has Adelaide sitting third on the A-League table with one regular season match remaining (Friday against Melbourne Victory) and has the team positioned perfectly for a home final with the playoffs commencing next weekend.

Coolen admitted he was delighted to commit himself to the Adelaide cause until 2015.

"I am thankful to the people that helped bring me out to Australia and from the time the new owners came in, they have given me fantastic support and I am extremely grateful for the faith they have shown in me," Coolen said.

"Looking at the great support this team has from its fans, I can see that Adelaide United is going places and being able to be part of it is something I am really excited about."

It is a great coup by the South Australian club to secure Coolen on a four-year deal as they strive to qualify for this season's Grand Final to force themselves back into the Asian Champions League fold.
