Adelaide United have progressed to the quarter-finals of the Asian Champions League courtesy of a 1-0 home win over Nagoya Grampus on Tuesday night.
Jon McKain scored in the 42nd minute when Dario Vidosic's corner was headed to the back post by Nigel Boogaard for the defender to knock it in from close range.
The solitary goal was enough to send the Reds into the final eight where they will be joined by Saudi Arabian trio Al-Ahli, Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal, Iran's Sepahan and Uzebkistan's Bunyodkor with results from matches between Ulsan Hyundai v Kashiwa Reysol and Guangzhou Evergrande v FC Tokyo still to come.
