Adelaide United's van Dijk knows pressure is mounting

Adelaide United striker Sergio van Dijk is aware that pressure is beginning to mount on the club.

The Reds have so far exceeded all expectations this season with three wins from five matches perching them nicely at the top of the A-League table (equal with Perth Glory).

Those three wins have come on the trot and van Dijk knows that this weekend's clash with the Newcastle Jets at Hindmarsh Stadium is one his side is now expected to win.

"If we can continue playing the way that we are playing the last couple of weeks then I think we can expect a good win," he said.

"It's not going to be easy because people are expecting things from us and I think Newcastle is working on that as well."
