Australian young gun Mathew Leckie will certainly sign with German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach. The 20-year old Adelaide United attacking midfielder is currently in Germany with the Australian national team as a train-on helping prepare for next week's international friendly against the Germans in Monchengladbach.
Die Fohlen's director of sport Max Eberl confirmed that Leckie will officially sign with the club once he finishes his national team obligations.
"He had a medical on Monday and now he is with Australia. Once everything is in order he will sign a deal with us," Eberl told the club's official website.
Leckie emerged as a promising talent at the beginning of the 2010/11 A-League season with a string of brilliant performances for the Reds and will now develop his game further in Germany's top flight. He is expected to kick things off with the Monchengladbach reserve team.
