Adelaide United left-back Cassio hopes he can one day throw on the green and gold of the Australian national team.
The Brazilian-born defender will get his Australian citizenship in May next year and after that admits he would love to push for Socceroos selection.
"Australia is my country now and I would love to play for Australia, I feel very comfortable here. I will see what happens in the future, when I get my citizenship here in eight months," he told the Adelaide Advertiser.
However, Cassio's contract with the Reds expires in February so he has to sort something out there before he can realise his international dream.
"I have to see what happens with my contract here with Adelaide and see what we can arrange. I have to start talking to them to see what happens," he added.
