A-League club Adelaide United have made sure of their qualification for this season's Asian Champions League (ACL) competition with a 3-0 victory over Indonesian club Persipura Jayapura.
The Reds were forced to take on Persipura after the Indonesian outfit won a Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) injunction to allow them a qualifier after the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) failed to register them following their breakaway to the Indonesian Super League.
Nonetheless, Adelaide remain in the Asia's premier club competition thanks to goals from defensive duo Nigel Boogaard and Evgeniy Levchenko before Sergio van Dijk wrapped up proceedings six minutes before time.
The victory allows the Reds to maintain their spot in Group F of the ACL which kicks off in early March.
