A meeting involving Adelaide United coach Aurelio Vidmar, club owners, the chairman and CEO has had a positive outcome. After Vidmar publicly criticised the club after their 4-0 capitulation to the Melbourne Victory, a meeting was held to iron out the problems the club would likely face this week in the backlash of it all and everybody has agreed to move forward.
"We're delighted with the outcome of the meeting. We're all heading forward in the same direction, Aurelio has the unconditional support of everybody who was at that meeting and we're just looking forward to a terrific game on Saturday," chairman Mel Patzwald said.
Vidmar made some derogatory comments regarding the city of Adelaide during the after match press conference but was apologetic yesterday.
"In the light of my comments, I certainly meant no disrespect to the people and city of Adelaide so I want to make that extremely clear," Vidmar said.
"We just cleared the air. There were a few issues we needed to solve and it was a really positive meeting," Vidmar said. "Everyone said exactly what they thought and everyone was really pleased with the outcome. All we're doing now is focusing on the Preliminary Final on Saturday."
