Adebayor unsure if Spurs want to keep him

Emmanuel Adebayor says he doesn't know if Tottenham will keep him this summer.

Adebayor scored and made the goals that secured Spurs' midweek draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. But he has suffered a difficult season, prompting suggestions the 29-year-old will be replaced by Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas in the summer.

"I've had a very tough season," Adebayor told the Sunday Mirror.

"I signed for the club late, I didn't have any pre-season, I had a lot of injuries and there was the African Cup of Nations.

"I hope I will have a good finish to the season because now I am getting fitter and fitter every day. I just have to keep going and doing my thing to the end of the season.

"Then I will know my future and what is happening to my future.

"If I'm still a Tottenham player, I will go on pre-season and I will have proper training. Criticism just makes me stronger because my background was not easy.

"I got shot in the team bus, I could not walk when I was a boy and I grew up injured, so, when people criticise me, it just makes me stronger.
