Emmanuel Adebayor has backed his Tottenham teammate Harry Kane to replicate the heroics of former club star Gareth Bale.
Speaking in the wake the 3-0 defeat to Manchester United on the weekend, Adebayor, who made his first appearance for the north London club since January 24, said: "He is a young lad and at the moment I think he is the only one that can save our season.
"Gareth Bale did it two seasons ago and I scored [14 goals in 24 games] in the second half of last season.
"Harry is learning through his difficult moments as well as his positive ones but he is fantastic player. Hopefully, he will drag us out of the top seven and put us in the top four. If he can keep scoring as he has recently, of course he can do it.
"But don't get me wrong, now people are starting to get to know him and what he can do and what he cannot do, his positives and negatives on the pitch. But he is an intelligent lad and he just has to find his way."
Tottenham currently sit six points adrift of fourth-placed United with nine fixtures remaining with Kane third on the scoring charts with 16 goals behind Diego Costa and Sergio Aguero.
