Adebayor positive about Tottenham stay

Emmanuel Adebayor insists he is happy at Tottenham and looking forward to the season ahead.

The Togo striker had been heavily linked with a White Hart Lane departure during the summer transfer window with suggestions that he wanted to be elsewhere but he stayed put and is delighted to have remained in North London.

"I decided with my manager (Andre Villas-Boas), even before the start of the transfer window that I would not leave Tottenham and that's what I did," he told AllAfrica.com.

"I have never thought of leaving Spurs. I am here, my family feels great here and I do not see myself in another city."

The former Arsenal and Manchester City man was also determined to become Villas-Boas' first-choice striker ahead of Roberto Soldado, Jermain Defoe and Erik Lamela.

"Today I will not tell you that I 'm stronger than Soldado or Defoe or Lamela," he added.

"We now have four in the attack, I do not know who ranks first, second or third but I know at the end I will be the first and it is the most important."
