Former Liverpool ace Charlie Adam is backing Xherdan Shaqiri to break back into the first team.
Calling upon his own experience of fighting for first team opportunities at Anfield, Adam has encouraged Shaqiri to not get disheartened by his current situation.
"I think it's been in and out for him," Adam told the Liverpool Echo."He's had a couple of injuries in pre-season as well."
The Swiss added: "At a club like Liverpool you need top players in your squad and they've got that. When they're not playing he can come in and play.
"He'll play his fair share. He's always got talent, he's always had that talent. You just need to look at his CV, he's a top player.
"Hopefully he can get a run of games at Liverpool but it's always difficult at a club like that.
"He is good enough to create and score and hopefully he can contribute to Liverpool winning the title."
